Top Web Browsing Shortcuts

I think you are very much acquainted with a few basic shortcuts to be used in various web browsers. These will not only make you browse faster but also will help in organizing things while using internet. e.g. write something in the address bar of the browser (let’s say hackdigital) and then pressing ctrl + enter will automatically redirects to the corresponding website(here, www.hackdigital.com).  Apart from this, there are some useful shortcut commands to be used in the address bar which are very much easy to remember and you need not have to install bookmark or add-ons.
Here is a list of a few interesting and useful web browsing shortcuts which will surely help you doing various tasks using the web browser in an effective and efficient way.
  • E mail a web page - If you want to send a link of the current web page to a contact or to yourself then there is an easier method. Just type the mailto command in the address bar (see below to know its format). This will create a new message in your default email program. Now you can have the URL of the page in either the body of the message or in the subject line itself as per your convenience.
mailto:a1@abc.com?body=http://www.hackdigital.com/(a1@abc.com is the email of your contact)
  • Take a ScreenShot-In order to take a screenshot of a web page, just go to the address bar and type aviary.com/ right before http://portion of the URL and then press the enter.
e.g. aviary.com/http://www.hackdigital.com
  • Shrink the web address – There are around a million URL shortening programmes available. As per my opinion, try bit.ly before the       web address. It will give the short form on the next screen.
e.g. bit.ly/http://www.hackdigital.com
  • Who owns a website – If you want to know the actual e-mail address and other contact details of the owner of a specific site; then, here      is a  simple solution. Whois tracks the record of almost all the available websites. For this just type whois.domaintools.com/ just before       the  address.
e.g. whois.domaintools.com/www.hackdigital.com
  • Download buffering Videos of all kinds- If you want to download buffering videos from websites like youtube.com, metacafe.com,       dailymotion.com, facebook.com etc., there is a better solution apart from installing youtube downloader. Just type deturl.com/ right           before the address. It will prompt you to download that video in either flash or quicktime format.
e.g. deturl.com/http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwXg-urAzME
  • Send notes – For this first you need to open an account in futzme.com. It is basically a free service which enables the user to send text        notes, hyperlinks and even images. Just type futzme.com/username followed by a space and then the desired web link or address of the       content. The target content will be sent to the corresponding user’s mail address.
e.g. http://www.futzme.com/pritam209 www.pritam-priyadarshi.blogspot.com
  • Mobile friendly mode – If you are browsing a web page on a mobile phone and find some problem in opening the page, then you can         easily convert it to easier mobile friendly mode. This can be done by simply adding http://mopwn.com/ in front of the URL in the address   bar.  This will forward your request to the Google Transcoder to open it in mobile mode.
